A Note from the Principal

Mrs. Tapia

Jackeline Tapia has been an educator for 13 years. She started her career in the Castaic Union School District as a fourth grade teacher. Jackie then joined the Palmdale School District where she served as a fourth grade, Spanish teacher, at a Dual Immersion Elementary. She returned to the Santa Clarita Valley to join the Newhall School District. Jackie is bilingual, she grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and has a deep appreciation of world cultures and languages. She loves to travel, cinema, photography, and dance.

Jackeline Tapia tiene trece años de experiencia en educación. Empezó su carrera en el distrito escolar de Castaic como maestra de cuarto año. Después trabajó, como maestra en español, en una escuela de inmersión dual en el distrito de Palmdale. Regresó al valle de Santa Clarita para unirse al equipo del distrito de Newhall. Jackie es bilingüe, creció en Guadalajara, México y tiene un profundo aprecio por la cultura y el lenguaje. Algunas de sus actividades favoritas incluyen viajar, el cine, la fotografía y el baile.

A Note from the Assistant Principal

Ms. Daniella Rizo:

Ms. Rizo is excited to join Newhall Elementary School in the 2024-25 school year! Ms. Rizo has been working in education since 2011 as a teacher assistant, classroom teacher, mentor,Instructional Coach and, most recently, as the Assistant Principal at Pico Canyon Elementary School. She has played an active role in the Santa Clarita Teacher Induction Program as well as empowering bilingual families throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. In her free time, Ms. Rizo enjoys running, hiking, playing piano, and spending time with her two young boys. It's going to be a great year - Let's Go, Eagles!

¡La Sra. Rizo está emocionada de unirse a la Escuela Primaria Newhall en el año escolar 2024-25! La Sra. Rizo ha trabajado en educación desde 2011 como asistente de maestra, maestra de aula, mentora, entrenadora de instrucción y, más recientemente, como subdirectora de la escuela primaria Pico Canyon. Ha desempeñado un papel activo en el Programa de Inducción de Maestros de Santa Clarita, así como también en el empoderamiento de familias bilingües en todo el Valle de Santa Clarita. En su tiempo libre, a la Sra. Rizo le gusta correr, hacer caminatas, tocar el piano y pasar tiempo con sus dos hijos pequeños. Va a ser un gran año: ¡Vamos, Águilas!
